Galerie Andreas Huber in Wien

The program of Galerie Andreas Huber covers works by artists who as a matter of course understand art production strongly associated with politics, theory and social culture.

Galerie Andreas Huber was founded in 2005, located at Capistrangasse 3. In Summer 2010, the gallery moved to Schleifmühlgasse, the center of an established gallery district close to Vienna’s famous Naschmarkt. The new gallery space, now located on second floor, has an area of 140 sqm. With its high ceilings and wooden floors it resembles a typical Viennese apartment.

The new premises were inaugurated with the group show Brand New You’re Retro, followed by the exhibition Poèsie Sonore, which presented works by Henri Chopin, Carola Dertnig, Aloïs Godinat, Joan Jonas, and Tobias Kaspar.
The gallery program covers works by artists who as a matter of course understand art production strongly associated with politics, theory and social culture. In order to discuss issues of representation, construction and subsequent emerging standards and limits, forms of expression such as performance, video or public intervention are employed.

The gallery represents young emerging artists from Austria and abroad as well as established artists like Kaucyila Brooke and Josef Dabernig, who have presented their work in biennials like Venice and Berlin etc.

The gallery participates regularly in art fairs like Frieze London (2009, 2010), Art Basel Miami Beach, LISTE Basel, ARTISSIMA Torino, Art Cologne and Viennafair.
